How long have you been modeling for?
I have been modeling for five years, since I was fourteen.

What got you started in modeling?
I have been stopped by random people my whole life even when my mother would carry me as a baby, and they would say “Are you a model?, if not you should be one! I guess that was the main reason, and hearing it got me on my feet and persuaded me to start trying.

Describe qualities that a model should posses to be successful in the
business?
Responsibility, determination, and maturity.

Do you like the Detroit Scene?
LOVE IT! Born and raised in southwest Detroit, how can I not love the scene?! Its my home!

What kind of modeling do you prefer?
I prefer high fashion, glamour is interesting….. I love it all!

What goes on at a typical photo shoot?
Sometimes its quite chaotic! LOL! Lots of posing, hair and makeup must me perfect. So its usaully dress, hair/makeup, pictures, and Yeah! Were done!

Do you have a preferred photographer to work with?
No, not really I like to work with different photographers because it lets me get a feel for there personal style, and differentiates my portfolio!

Have you ever thought about stepping out of photography and maybe doing a
DVD or any other kind of media?
Yes, I have actually acted in an independent film already and I definetley looking foward to doing more!

Tell us about Motor City Dolls

MotorCityDolls.com was started back in 1999 by my girlfriend Leighonna and myself (KJ). At the time, we were both very motivated exotic dancers working in clubs and we had this brilliant idea to begin marketing ourselves at large events (such as the annual Harleyfest) as a ‘duo’ to be hired to do bachelor parties and/or modeling. We called ourselves the ‘MotorCityDolls!’ So we both went out and bought some really nice printers and editing software and we began to create and print out our own custom business cards on our computers, then we would take them to Kinko’s and have them laminated in a big roll of laminate and then we would spend countless hours cutting them into business cards by hand. We would then go to these big huge events and pass out our cards, and we began to get a HUGE response for booking parties/photo-shoots! Way too many calls for her and I to cover! So we began to pass along the jobs to our girlfriends, and thats basically how MotorCityDolls began! Since then, Leighonna got married and left the company to me, and I have been running it ever since! Last year, I teamed up with Nicole of ChampagneFantasy.com to build up our bachelor party side of the business! Together we bring you the best Michigan has to offer in the entertainment industry.

What are you looking for in a potential model at Motor City Dolls?

The first and foremost thing I look for in a ‘doll’ is obviously good looks. RESPONSIBILITY is a MUST! Girls who are always late or who dont show up are annoying, because they make me look like an incompetant a-hole! Drug issues are a big NO-NO! Casually partying is one thing but getting visibly coked up at events makes the company look bad. Being ‘GROOMED’ is an absolute necessity with me, I am pretty picky about the girls having their nails and hair done at all times, and I beg them to tan or at least use self tanning products because I don’t like to send out pasty, pale girls unless they are claiming the ‘gothic’ look. In that case, it works for them and they type of shoots they get hired for. When people think of the MotorCityDolls, I want them to think of my girls as those SEXY, BAD-ASS, ROCK AND ROLL, SEXUALLY CHARGED, FEARLESS HOTTIES from Detroit, Michigan! Not all of the MCD girls do adult work, some don’t take any clothing off at all, but I can say that I PREFER the wilder, no-holds-barred types… because in the long run these are the kinds of girls that will make the most money and have the most fun!

Name some of your favorite models to work with.
Of the models I’ve worked with Maria and Jennica were my favorties. They were creative with body movement and were easily directed.

What makes a good model?
Easy going and fun! I have not been doing this long enough to be an authority on it but I’ve found that models that are laid back, open minded, and confident(not to be confused with Cocky)have the best results and are a pleasure to work with.

What kinds of equipment are you using right now?
It may be a surprise to you (or anyone that doesn’t
know) but I use a Canon Powershot S400 “Digital Elph”
which is just a “Point and shoot” camera. I’m pretty ameture. For lighting I use 2 halogen shop lights that are about 1000 watts. I just do the best I can with what I have for the time being.
